Day Trip to Tendaba Lodge & Mangrove Boat Tour, Gambia

This day trip takes you from your hotel or apartment into the interior of Gambia, to the atmospheric Tendaba Lodge (160 km drive). Along the way and around the lodge, you’ll experience the rich nature of Gambia’s inland region.

From Tendaba, you’ll board a boat for an approximately 2-hour cruise through the mangrove forests along the Gambia River — one of the best places to spot birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat.


You’ll be personally accompanied throughout the day, and at the lodge you’ll enjoy lunch in the restaurant, with water and soft drinks included. At the end of the day, you’ll head back to Banjul.


This tour is ideal for anyone who wants to see more of Gambia’s interior and natural beauty without booking a multi-day trip.

Valid passport (valid for at least 6 months and with at least 1 blank page), a budget of approximately €5–10 per day for drinks, and optionally a SIM card upon arrival. A detailed itinerary will be sent a few weeks before departure.
